This year, Bupyeong Pungmul Festival, which is the largest Pungmul festival in Korea will be held in October. (2013. 10. 18 ~ 2013. 10.20)

Every year, people from various regions and countries come and enjoy this festival together.
Here, you can see Nanta(hitting drums by Korean style), B-boying, and many other performances.
But the most important and interesting thing to see is the Pungmul Performance!

Pungmul refers to the instruments used in farmers' music : the ggwaenggwari, a small gong; the jing, a large gonf; the janggu, a double-headed hourglass-shaped drum; the buk, a barrel drum; the sogo, a small hand drum; and the nallari(taepyeongso), a double-reed woodwood.
(reference : neungyule dictionary)

Those instruments make a fantastic music and many people could attend in the parade of Pungmul in this festival.

You can not only enjoy Pungmul parade, but you can also experience a lot of things such as making ricecake in traditional way, learning Korean manners, watching how silkworms make silk, making potteries and Korean masks, and so on.

You may think this is a place only to enjoy Korean culture, however, it's not true.
There are some performances that combined Korean and Western culture.

For example, you can see the performances such as playing western song with Korean instruments, dancing in western style with Korean songs.

Come to Korea in October and enjoy Bupyeon Pungmul Festival!

You won't regret coming to see the festival!!
